Overview Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence. The Data Science team develops AI and data-driven solutions to tackle challenges in semiconductor process and fab technology development, product design, product engineering, yield analysis, and systems engineering. The team enables intelligent automation and decision-making across Micron’s memory and storage portfolio.

Responsibilities

Develop AI solutions to improve semiconductor design and manufacturing workflows.

Collaborate with different teams to deliver effective AI systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s, PhD, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Expertise in Python with experience handling semiconductor design and process datasets. Proficient in enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, MSSQL, Oracle, AWS Redshift) for scalable data processing and analysis.

Hands-on experience building and leading AI/ML projects involving LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows in semiconductor environments; proficiency with ML frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).

Strong knowledge of domain-adapted LLM training, including pretraining, in-domain synthetic data post-training, and model quantization for efficient deployment in semiconductor environments.

Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and deployment of ML pipelines in production environments.

Familiarity with LLM evaluation and benchmarking techniques (RLHF, timely tuning, reward modeling for hardware-aware use cases).

Proven ability to independently drive AI/ML projects from problem prioritization through deployment in semiconductor environments.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with process technology, silicon design, design verification, validation, and product engineering teams, translating complex AI/ML concepts into actionable hardware solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct application of AI/ML to semiconductor design, processing, verification, validation, yield analysis, and manufacturing workflows.

Deep understanding of semiconductor-specific AI/ML applications.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and MLOps practices for ML/LLM deployment.

Strong understanding of agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen) and evaluation tools (e.g., AgentEval).

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.
