Job Title: Director of Distance Education/Title III Activity Director Location: ASU Beebe Overview
Responsible for leading course and training development for online courses to create a foundation of best practices and master course shells. Provide leadership in course design, quality development, delivery, tools and course evaluation and assessment. Ensure compliance with and reporting for the department’s activities and initiatives. This position oversees grant activity and online development relevant to distance learning, and develops new practices and improvements. Maintain the budget and assist in revising the budget and proposals for funding, as well as assist with evaluation and reporting of the projects. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Lead course and training development for Online Courses to create a foundation of best practices and Master Shells, including development of instructional and training materials for Master Shells. Provide leadership and recommendations for Distance Learning courses, delivery, proctoring and LMS; lead course design, quality development, delivery, tools and course evaluation offered in the LMS. Offer workshops, training, and tutorials for online curriculum and continuing education; provide faculty with training in best practices and online pedagogy as stated in the grant. Serve as LMS Co-Administrator with rights to manage and implement LMS as needed; include administrator rights for the Online Early Alert program with the grant and for online teaching and instructional design tools and software. Implement scripts in consultation with IT to ensure LMS and SIS communicate to populate courses correctly and generate reports for internal and external constituencies; manage implementation of scripts for online early alert and instructional design use in the LMS. Develop new practices and improvements as part of grant projects; assist in revising the budget and proposal for funding, and assist with evaluation and reporting of the project. Supervise Distance Education personnel. Ensure compliance and necessary reporting for the department’s activities and initiatives. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Experience General: 5 years related experience and/or training. Experience Management: 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in related field such as business administration, marketing, educational technology, etc. Previous experience in higher education administration, administration/coordination of online education, or specialized training in online learning system administration. Salary
