Overview
Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Mid-Career Environmental Remediation Engineer to join our Environmental Practice in our Portland, OR office. The Environmental Practice tackles challenges on a variety of complex environmental projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, including environmental site assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, property cleanup and urban redevelopments, remedial design engineering, cost recovery/allocation/mediation support, and landfill system monitoring and optimization. This position offers variety, mentorship, and opportunities for expanded responsibility and career growth. This is envisioned as a long-term, career-track role with the goal of growing and developing your own practice through effective project delivery and client development. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and partners to plan and execute work on environmental investigation and remediation projects.
Perform task, project, and client management under the guidance of senior technical experts.
Manage project teams including junior field staff, writing/editing staff, subject matter experts, and subcontractors to meet project needs.
Conduct project scoping and budgeting; manage project budget and schedule.
Apply technical expertise to solve environmental project problems to meet client needs and project objectives.
Complete technical data evaluation and write reports.
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or project sites as needed.
Education and Licensure
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related engineering discipline (required).
Master’s degree in environmental engineering or related discipline (preferred).
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
At least 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
Relevant coursework or experience in contaminant fate and transport.
Knowledge of state and federal cleanup laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance for cleanup of contaminated sites.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Clear and professional writing and verbal communication skills.
Excellent client management skills.
Ability to work on teams and interface with clients, attorneys, and regulators to execute projects.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
