Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial reporting. This role also plays a key part in maintaining a strong internal control environment with clearly documented processes and procedures. The company operates on a hybrid model, 3 days in the office.
Key Objectives
Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial reporting packages, offering clear, actionable insights for leadership decision-making Perform in-depth financial statement analysis and respond to ad hoc reporting needs Partner with department leaders to develop reporting on client profitability and uncover cost optimization opportunities Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to drive greater efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across accounting functions Primary Responsibilities
Oversee core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance Approve weekly disbursements and maintain current cash flow forecasts to support financial planning Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial schedules Prepare and analyze financial statements for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GAAP standards Develop detailed financial reports and variance analyses, highlighting trends, root causes, and actionable recommendations Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic business decisions Participate in monthly financial reviews with department leaders, offering insights and guidance Evaluate and refine accounting procedures, maintaining strong internal controls and proper documentation Mentor and develop accounting team members through performance management, goal setting, and professional development Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring timely and complete preparation of all required documentation Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles Experience in a service-based business environment strongly preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams Strong analytical mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement Additional information
