No Why Black and Veatch The BESS Conceptual Design Manager functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role in support of the Distributed Infrastructure Solution Pursuits Team. Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to complex engineering problems. May provide technical guidance over a group or supervise engineering staff on proposals that range from small to large scope and generally have medium to high-risk profiles. May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output. The Team Black & Veatch’s Technology, Commercial & Industrial Sector is a specialized group of capabilities focused on the latest needs for clients in a fast-growth technology-led arena of advanced manufacturing, generative AI computing including gigafactories, bio/ag tech, data centers and distributed infrastructure. Engineering Standards: Provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies Engineering Standards: Assists in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards Engineering Standards: Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines

Quality/Continuous Improvement: Independently applies knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks Quality/Continuous Improvement: May be responsible for ensuring compliance with Black and Veatch quality program Quality/Continuous Improvement: Provides related guidance and direction to others Quality/Continuous Improvement: Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts Quality/Continuous Improvement: Responsible for integrating lessons learned from execution into active pursuit cycles

Engineering Deliverable Production: Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for larger or multiple projects Engineering Deliverable Production: Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection Engineering Deliverable Production: Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work Engineering Deliverable Production: Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles Engineering Deliverable Production: Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements Engineering Deliverable Production: Independently applies advanced engineering techniques and analysis problems and methods Engineering Deliverable Production: Delegates and supervises work of younger engineers

Pursuit Coordination: Actively coordinates with all other pursuit team members in support of conceptual design deliverables and engineering turnover

Client Focus: Responsible for assisting with identification of key client interests, drivers, and win strategies Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline Understanding of BESS general arrangement drawings Experience with specifying and procuring electrical equipment Understand and be able to work within a schedule and manhours budget Familiar with applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Certifications: Most positions – depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division – will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit* of such registration. Additional professional registration or licensure may be needed when practicing or on assignment in a different country. Exceptions may be approved by division management on a case by case basis. Work Environment/Physical Demands: Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
