Overview
The Director, Revenue Management is responsible for leading a team that forecasts, adjusts, and maximizes the ticket revenue of Spirit’s nonstop and connecting network. This role has broad responsibility for ensuring that bookings, inventory, and future strategies are aligned and work with both the pricing team and the ancillary revenue team to ensure best total revenue results. Additionally, the Director will work with other teams in the commercial organization to drive Spirit’s RM strategy including network, automation, systems, and reporting. Responsibilities
Lead the revenue management team in maximizing ticket revenue. This will entail direct inventory management for peak and offpeak times, both leg based and O&D inventory management, demand forecasting, strategic adjustments, optimization of reporting, and maintenance/management of systems used for these processes. Communicate performance expectations and results with senior leadership as well as direct reports to create and support an efficient, results-oriented organization Collaborate with various stakeholders in Spirit Airlines to identify opportunities, including IT, Network Planning, Pricing, and Ancillary Revenue to ensure best revenue outcomes Identify and develop appropriate reports to support decision making, recommend enhancements to existing revenue management tools Oversee the production of new revenue management tools and automations which improve upon our current policies and procedures Drive forward new strategies in connecting revenue management and total revenue management in conjunction with other members of commercial organization Improve the speed and accuracy of revenue management through continuous process reviews and improvement Identify and implement the necessary process/procedures to minimize dilutive practices and maximize revenue results Develop analysts and managers through consistent coaching, mentoring, and feedback May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments). Education
Master’s degree or equivalent experience (Pricing/Revenue Management preferred) Experience
7+ years management & analytical RM or commercial experience Specialized Skills & Competencies
Strong written and verbal communication skills - must be able to clearly explain complex concepts to internal and external stakeholders Effective time management - must be able to prioritize areas of opportunity and concern to address items with the greatest impact on improving revenue Analytical skills - must have strong Excel skills and experience with structuring analyses to answer questions, draw conclusions, and formulate next steps Strong Leadership - must be able to lead through ambiguity, encourage growth and development among team members, and clearly define/maintain high performance standards Other Job Requirements
Travel – Domestic & International travel under 10% of time Physical Effort – Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Seniority level
