Overview

Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer – based in Orange, California. As part of AECOM's Water Business Line, you will work on projects including dams, levees, pipelines, bridges, tunnels, building structures, and other facilities, and collaborate with a wide range of disciplines. Responsibilities

Geotechnical Staff Engineer will support various projects that involve field investigation, soil sample collection, geotechnical analysis and design of foundations for structures such as bridges, dams, pipelines, treatment plants, etc. Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Work closely with senior engineers and project managers and receive guidance on all aspects of the geotechnical engineering work. Knowledge in installation and/or functioning of geotechnical investigation and analysis is a plus. Analyze data using spreadsheets and geotechnical software to assist in the preparation of geotechnical reports. Build analytic and design skills and conduct engineering design under supervision of an experienced engineer. Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision. Collect and analyze data under supervision of an experienced engineer. Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications

Master\'s Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical focus. Experience using software that includes Excel, Word, gINT, AutoCAD. EIT or FE license is preferred. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Positive attitude and strong initiative to learn and excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional Information

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is USD 70,000.00 - USD 80,000.00 per year. About AECOM
