As Head of Financial Performance & Insights, you’ll lead a high-performing team to deliver timely, accurate, and strategic financial insights that shape decision-making across Westpac NZ and the Westpac Group in Australia.You’ll own the financial targets, forecasting, and month-end processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and performance ambitions. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence financial strategy at the executive level, working closely with senior leaders across both NZ and Australia.You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Westpac NZ’s financial strategy and performance, driving the monitoring and analysis of financial outcomes to support strategic decision-making. Your insights will influence key business decisions, and you’ll maintain strategic awareness by tracking competitor activity, industry trends, and regulatory developments.Key responsibilities include:* Oversee the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality financial consolidation, reporting, and insights, including preparing compelling reports and presentations for the Board and Executive audiences in both New Zealand and Australia.* Build trusted relationships across Westpac NZ and the Westpac Group in Australia, engaging regularly with the Executive Team, CFO, and Finance Leadership Team, and partnering with Finance, Treasury, and other Business Units to ensure consistency and clarity in financial reporting and planning.* Lead and develop a high-performing team, cultivating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Manage competing priorities and champion initiatives that enhance reporting efficiency and the quality of financial insights.We are looking for an experienced Finance Leader with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to influence at the executive level.Additionally, you will bring:* Proven experience in developing and delivering financial strategy within large, complex organisations (banking experience preferred)* Strong analytical capability, with a track record of interpreting data and trends to inform strategic decision-making* Extensive experience in managing finance teams for a large business unit or enterprise, with a focus on performance and insights* Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative, psychologically safe, and high-performing team cultures* Skilled in influencing and mentoring senior leaders, including Executive Team members* Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a focus on capability development and team engagement* High resilience and effectiveness under pressure, with strong time management and prioritisation across multiple deliverables and stakeholders* Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment* Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications (i.e. CA, CPA, CFA etc.)**Westpac Hei Wāhi Mahi | Working at Westpac**
