This person will join the Close, Consolidations, and Reporting team within the Corporate Controller’s Group and is primarily responsible for the monthly global consolidations of the multinational corporation, assisting in the Corporation’s monthly general ledger close and coordinating the delivery of financial reports produced within Close, Consolidations, and Reporting in support of SEC Reporting and Investor Relations. The position provides varied exposure to many areas of the Corporation, with extensive interaction with the business, operations, technology and finance teams to govern the monthly close and communicate initiatives. The position reports to a Vice President in Chicago, who is the ESG Controller. Responsibilities

Responsible for the monthly close and consolidations of the global financial results. Assist in corporate consolidation and analysis of monthly financial results. Prepare and review periodic financial statements on a consolidated basis. Handle specialized accounting areas within Corporate financial reporting (such as transfer pricing, journal entries, etc.). Assist in the preparation, completion, and documentation of certain SEC reporting deliverables. Set up and account for complex multi-tier investment entities. Act as a key contact for various internal and external partners, communicating succinctly and interpreting financial results to business leaders. Recommend and implement process improvements identified in day-to-day work. Perform variance analyses to assess the impact of financial strategies on the financial position and operating results. Work with internal and external partners on cross-functional processes or projects. Develop in-depth knowledge of financial reporting systems and share knowledge. Manage preparation of manual or ad-hoc reconciliations, ensuring documentation and accounting comply with corporate requirements and policies. Respond to and resolve queries from Business/Finance and other colleagues in a timely manner. Work closely with Finance teams in other locations. Required Skills

Qualified accountant (preferably CPA) with experience in a multi-currency financial services environment. Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting requirements. Experience with PeopleSoft GL and Hyperion Finance management is a plus. Experience with Workiva/Wdesk is a plus. Experience in a multi-entity global publicly traded corporation consolidations team. Solid understanding of inter-company transactions, eliminations, and equity pickup. Strong knowledge of foreign currency translation, functional currency, reporting currency, and remeasurement. Background in a corporate financial control environment with knowledge of accounting, reporting, and financial control requirements as well as statutory and audit requirements. Ability to work in a fast-paced monthly close environment to complete the global consolidations process timely and accurately within the Northern Trust monthly close cycle. Solid understanding of consolidated financial statements. Ability to understand how detailed activities fit into the larger financial accounting and reporting picture for individual entities and the Corporation as a whole. Required Competencies

Advanced IT skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proven ability to assess issues, identify solutions and problem solve. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail. Salary Range

$83,100 - 141,300 USD Salary range is a good-faith estimate of base pay.
