What You'll Do

Media & Influencer Relations: Lead media strategy and execution for cybersecurity clients, cultivate relationships with 10+ reporters across business, trade, and cybersecurity press, craft proactive pitches, and drive high-quality media coverage. Client Service & Program Management: Own tactical execution of cybersecurity-focused PR elements, lead weekly client calls, manage projects from kickoff to delivery, develop quarterly cybersecurity campaign plans, monitor the threat landscape, and support client media training and budgeting. Writing & Content Development: Write and edit cybersecurity-focused content such as thought leadership pieces, press releases, speaking abstracts, and briefing materials; ensure accuracy and relevance. Insights, Analytics & Integration: Lead results reporting, leverage data to refine campaigns, and collaborate across teams to ensure integrated service delivery (including AI, design, content, and social media). Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentor junior staff, foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture, and lead by example in proactive collaboration and professional conduct. Agency Engagement & Operations: Contribute to new business efforts, write for Highwire’s blog, and participate in conferences and events to expand the agency’s reach. Professional Growth: Set quarterly goals with your manager, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain deadlines while staying current with cybersecurity news and trends. What You Bring

3–5 years of PR/communications experience in an agency setting (required). Direct experience with cybersecurity clients or within the security industry. Strong media relationships across tech, business, and security outlets (e.g., Wired, TechCrunch, CyberScoop, SC Magazine, Dark Reading, Axios). Ability to translate complex cybersecurity topics into compelling media narratives. Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills; experience managing client communications and deliverables. Comfort with analytics tools and reporting on performance metrics.
