Job Summary The Park at 14th is seeking an experienced and professional Maître d' to join our team. The Maître d' will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, seating guests, and overseeing the dining room to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Greet guests warmly and professionally, making them feel valued.
Manage reservations to maximize table turnover while respecting guest preferences.
Promptly seat guests, considering special requests and party sizes.
Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints courteously and professionally.
Operational Leadership
Oversee the dining room to ensure smooth service and a positive guest experience.
Maintain a clean, organized entrance and dining area, ensuring tables are correctly set.
Monitor and adjust dining flow to prevent bottlenecks and seat guests efficiently.
Team Management
Lead, train, and supervise the host/hostess team, fostering a culture of excellence.
Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff for seamless operations.
Motivate and support the team to deliver exceptional service consistently.
Professional Excellence
Stay informed about industry trends to maintain high service standards.
Use reservation and guest management systems effectively.
Demonstrate professionalism, impeccable presentation, and a passion for hospitality.
Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills for managing reservations and seating.
Proven leadership experience in hospitality.
Proficiency with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) and basic computer applications.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Reliable commute or relocation to Washington, DC 20005.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay: $18.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience.
Work Environment
Physical setting: Bar and casual dining restaurant.
Shifts: 8–10 hours, including day, evening, and night shifts.
Availability: Flexibility for various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Operating hours (excluding special events):
Friday: 5PM–3AM
Saturday: 11AM–3AM
Sunday: 11AM–7PM
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: 5PM–2AM
