This role focuses on providing technical support to field sales, building and maintaining relationships with engineers, architects, contractors, builders, and government agencies, and ensuring Viega products are specified in master specifications. The Technical Sales Manager works with cross-functional teams to develop and revise product specifications, deliver technical sales support, and drive long-term relationships with key account decision makers. The role requires regular field activity, customer visits, and travel to customer sites to support product adoption and specification alignment. What You’ll Do
Execute sales and account strategies in alignment with corporate goals to achieve revenue retention and growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain technical relationships with customers by understanding their product strategy, requirements, and constraints; match Viega solutions to customer needs; resolve technical questions and issues. Call on engineers, architects, contractors, builders, government agencies, educational institutes, and industrial accounts to ensure products appear in master specifications. Provide technical sales assistance to regional and account teams to review and develop engineering/product guide specifications as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to revise existing specifications and develop new ones to gain master specification approval. Develop long-term relationships with key account decision makers; understand organizational structure and buying influences. Deliver professional technical presentations using product samples and slides to diverse audiences to support market growth and product development. Solicit new customer calls to increase demand; maintain a regular cycle of customer visits and build a contractor database for the territory. Provide ongoing training and support to customers as requested; travel to various locations to support field activities. Respond to leads from trade shows or other sources; qualify and prioritize contacts; provide requested information. Support cross-functional teams to ensure on-time client deliveries and service quality. Code Enforcement and Reporting
Engage local code officials to obtain acceptance of products; work with inspectors to resolve installation questions. Maintain monthly sales reports and business metrics; identify opportunities; report trends and new products; provide weekly updates to management. Prepare regular field activity, sales, and forecast reports; track travel and expenses; manage budgets and CRM/specification databases. Maintain and utilize CRM/SAP Mobile Sales calendars to document calls, relationships, and scheduling. Other Responsibilities
Attend meetings as required; participate in local professional societies to promote product understanding. Perform other duties as assigned. Special Job Dimensions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; experience with SAP and Salesforce Knowledge of codes and standards; understanding of specifications development in assigned industries Knowledge of piping industry; strong written and verbal communication; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Strong organizational, relationship-building, and strategic selling abilities Proven selling ability; ability to work autonomously or as part of a team Ability to interpret market dynamics and implement competitive strategies; capability to present to varied audiences Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and provide high-quality service Commitment to high standards of quality and professionalism Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent 5-7 years of industry-related sales experience College degree preferred Driver’s license required Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
