Overview
Director of Sales – Walmart and Club Channel. Remote position based in Bentonville, AR (within 30 miles). The Watkins Company has been a pioneer in natural flavoring products since 1868. From our world-famous Vanilla Extract, to our unique Cinnamon and Black Pepper, The Watkins Company continues to be innovative in categories including but not limited to Extracts, Spices, Dry Seasoning Mixes, Bitters, and Baking Decorations. The Watkins Company is excited to announce the opening for a Director of Sales within our retail sales team responsible for Walmart and Club retailers. The Director of Sales for Walmart and Club Channel is responsible for leading the strategic vision, sales execution, and growth of Walmart and club retailers. This senior level individual contributor role manages senior level customer relationships, drives strategic account planning, and collaborates cross functionally to deliver sustainable revenue, share, and profitability growth. Responsibilities
Directs, develops, and implements strategies to grow company revenue in accordance with the organization’s goals and objectives in both the United States and International. Owns the customer P&L and delivers annual sales, profit, and share objectives across Walmart and the Club channel. Develop long-term customer strategies in alignment with company priorities. Establishes the company as a trusted category advisor through insight-driven recommendations and thought leadership. Builds and strengthens senior-level relationships with buyers, merchants, and key stakeholders at Walmart and Club customers. Leads negotiations on trade terms, distribution, pricing, and merchandising to maximize growth. Identifies and pursues new distribution and innovation opportunities across customers. Delivers impactful category reviews, joint business planning, and shopper insights presentations. Partners with internal teams to tailor assortment, pack-size, and promotional strategies for each retailer. Works closely with supply chain, finance, marketing, and category insights to ensure seamless execution of customer plans. Partners with Shopper Marketing to deliver tailored activation programs, including digital and in-store initiatives. Monitors execution, tracks KPIs, and provides regular performance updates to leadership. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred. 6+ years of progressive CPG sales/account management experience, including direct responsibility for Walmart; Club channel experience – preferred. Proven track record of delivering top- and bottom-line growth in large, complex accounts. Strong negotiation, relationship management, and strategic planning skills. Excellent analytical abilities with the capacity to translate data into actionable strategies. Ability to collaborate across functions and influence without direct reporting lines.
