GAT Airline Ground Support
Overview
GAT Airline Ground Support is seeking an experienced Airport General Manager to lead operations at locations throughout the United States. The role requires strong leadership to expand the business portfolio and deliver high-quality, compliant aviation services while maintaining a safe and productive environment for employees and customers. Successful General Managers are rewarded for achieving growth and performance targets. Responsibilities
Conduct monthly safety meetings for all employees Manage all operations activities and multiple carrier contracts Conduct flight audits, station audits, and "at risk" behavior audits Participate in monthly company safety conference calls Communicate safety policies, GAT's core values, and mission to all levels of the organization Oversee staffing requirements, manpower planning with customers for group movements and peak travel periods Direct recruiting and placement to meet requirements and follow customer instructions regarding standards and practices Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (FAA, OSHA, EPA, US DOL, EEOC) Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and coach employees as necessary Manage disciplinary actions with proper documentation and consistent policy application Coordinate purchases for operational needs and ensure adequate supplies Review payroll and hours to maintain budgetary targets Monitor operational irregularities and document/approve out-of-scope costs Lead weekly Lead/Supervisor meetings and daily equipment updates with GSE mechanics Monitor uniform and appearance guidelines and inspect facilities daily Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports (shift, discipline, safety, payroll, evaluations, work orders, etc.) Investigate service failures including delays and mishandling of baggage/cargo/mail Administer station operational plans (deicing, FOD, safety, winter operations, baggage) Complete personnel evaluations and liaise with customer service, airport authorities, USPS, and clients Respond to concerns reported by customer supervision Attend local airport tenant, security, and safety meetings; perform routine visits to authorities Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or appropriate combination of education and experience 5+ years of airline industry experience 5+ years of experience managing and leading people with financial responsibility Executive presence and understanding of a large corporate environment Large-scale project management experience Experience managing multi-customer markets Strong strategic skills and business acumen with ability to motivate teams to high standards Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships with stakeholders Strong analytical skills Self-directed, highly motivated, proactive leader Strong written and verbal communication skills Willing to rotate schedule to be visible to clients and team members as needed Seniority level
