The Certified Medical Assistant Specialist plays a vital role in promoting patient well-being at IMA by addressing physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and educational needs. You will interact with a dynamic team in a fast-paced medical office setting to ensure seamless patient care delivery. Primary Responsibilities: Rooming:
Assist patients from the lobby to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, gather information regarding chief complaints, and prepare charts for physician review. Messages:
Efficiently handle patient phone calls and prioritize message responses. Document all communications in patient charts. Patient Care:
Schedule appointments, medical procedures, and educate patients as directed by physicians. Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Participate in the OSHA Health and Safety Program to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace and exam rooms, ensuring all supplies are stocked and not expired. Collaborate with the operations manager to enhance the Greenway Intergy system and ensure all patient needs for clinical and scheduling support are met. Produce reports analyzing appointment patterns and call volumes, and make recommendations for improvements. Communicate frequently with pharmacies, insurance companies, and outside providers. Perform other duties as assigned. Education:
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, current CMA (or MA) certification, and current CPR certification required. Experience:
At least one year of medical office experience with a preference for clinical settings. Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical protocols. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle incoming phone calls and triage effectively. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Competency in Microsoft Office and EHR Intergy. Effective team collaboration skills. Work Environment:
This role involves working in a well-lit and ventilated medical office. The position can be fast-paced and may involve stress from busy schedules and patient demands. Physical Requirements:
The job may require manual dexterity, mobility, and the ability to handle files and supplies, with occasional walking, bending, and extended periods of sitting. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
