MWI/Micro Technologies Field Hardware/IT Specialist
This role is in support of Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions marketed through our MWI Animal Health business. MWI Animal Health is a leading brand of Cencora, offering animal health services globally. Location: This role is remote in Kansas and Colorado traveling to our established customer sites and new sites to do Field IT support. It will cover an area in NW Kansas and Eastern Colorado. The ideal candidate would be based out of Goodland or Colby, Kansas or Burlington, Colorado. As an MWI/Micro Technologies Field Hardware/IT Specialist, your primary responsibility will be the on-site installation, configuration and maintaining of our computer systems, computers, software & network infrastructures in our customer's cattle feeding and dairy operations, while delivering exceptional customer service and support to those customers as well as other departments within Micro Technologies/MWI. Responsibilities: Strong planning, problem-solving, decision-making skills are required. Communicate directly with our customers. Computer hardware installation, training, maintenance, diagnostics & replacement of the following: Servers, Computers, Switches, Modems, Routers, as well as Wired & Wireless Infrastructure Hardware Experience in virus removal Must be available for local "day" travel. Occasional long distance overnight travel will be required as well. Be available to cover a rotating weekend "On-Call" schedule Must have ability to climb grain legs and other like structures Must have ability to do coaxial and networking cable runs Must be able to adapt to a wide variety of applications as it relates to computers/network equipment. Strong network experience is preferred. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience: Basic OS troubleshooting (preferred) as well as some basic knowledge of Linux is preferred but not required Experienced in Windows XP, Vista 7 & 8 troubleshooting Must have experience with supporting 1 to 20 computers / workstations. Must be fully qualified to perform the technical tasks listed. Must be motivated, reliable, and trustworthy. Must be motivated to learn and adapt to areas you may be unfamiliar with. Education: A degree or certification is preferred, but not required. A successful candidate must have equivalent experience in a technical field. Driving Requirements: Must be eligible to drive a vehicle that is DOT certified (CDL not required) Must have the ability to maintain a DOT log book. Must have a good driving record to pass an MVR. This role does require driving a company vehicle, thus: No more than 3 moving violations and or accidents in the past 3 years No more than 2 moving violations and or accidents in the past year Drivers should have no "major convictions" within last 5 years: Driving while intoxicated or "under the influence" (DWI or DUI) Leaving the scene of an accident Careless or reckless driving violations Homicide or assault through the use of motor vehicle Attempting to elude a police officer Drivers who have a suspended or revoked license or those who have had 3 or more license suspensions in the past Skills: Decision Making: Identifies goals and constraints, considers risks, generates alternatives, evaluates options, and selects best alternatives. Problem Solving: Recognizes that a problem exists (i.e., that there is a discrepancy between what is and what should be); identifies possible reasons for the discrepancy and devises and implements a plan of action to resolve it. Reasoning: Discovers the underlying relationship between two or more objects and uses that knowledge to solve a problem; uses logic to draw conclusions from available information; identifies general rules or principles; applies rules and principles to new situations; determines which conclusions are correct from analysis of a given set of facts and information.
