Gersh Autism is seeking a smart and energetic

Speech and Language Pathologist

to provide speech therapy support to children ages 5-21. The Speech Pathologist will regularly collaborate with other disciplines and services at departmental and system levels. The role involves independently reviewing outcomes and modifying intervention programs. Clinical reasoning and professional judgment are essential, with experience in screening, evaluation, educational programming and transition planning, and therapeutic intervention for students with disabilities. Gersh Academy has empowered students on the autism spectrum for over 30 years across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, offering personalized education in K-12 settings, comprehensive therapeutic services (speech, physical, occupational therapy, and more), and vocational training for older students. The team collaborates with families to support academic, social, and emotional growth and prepare students for success beyond the classroom. Responsibilities

Promote optimal function and engagement in meaningful activities. Provide support to families and collaborate with other disciplines to address goals and objectives in each student’s IFSP or IEP. Provide speech and language therapy/evaluations for language, auditory processing disorder, articulation, and voice/fluency. Work with children who have autism and utilize behavior management techniques. Write evaluations and progress reports; maintain appropriate documentation regarding student services and subsequent needs in accordance with state and local requirements. Consult and collaborate with parents, schoolteachers, and fellow colleagues. *Note: The above reflects responsibilities, but the role is not limited to these duties.* Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders. Current license for Speech Therapy in the State of NY. TSSLD certification preferred. PROMPT experience preferred. Working Conditions

Location: Onsite at our school in Downtown Brooklyn Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm School/Classroom setting Physical Requirements

Must be able to keep students safe from themselves and others and may need to implement CPI procedures. Must be able to remove oneself from potentially harmful situations and, in some cases, lift a child. Benefits For Full Time Employees
