About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Discovery Biology team and drive translational biomarker strategy in one of our renal programs. This individual will play a key role in developing, validating, and implementing biomarker assays to support clinical trials, with a focus on renal physiology and related disease areas. Responsibilities
Design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to identify and validate novel biomarkers and elucidate mechanisms of action for GondolaBio’s therapeutic candidates. Develop, optimize, and validate biomarker assays (molecular, cellular, immunological) using mouse and human-derived samples to support translational research. Provide scientific and technical leadership in various biomarker platforms and evaluate emerging biomarker technologies for clinical relevance and technical performance; integrate innovative approaches into ongoing programs. Analyze and interpret biomarker data from preclinical and clinical studies; communicate findings clearly to cross-functional teams. Implement biomarker plans in clinical protocols and lab manuals; oversee assay execution at CROs and external partners under Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders and maintain well-documented research records. Requirements
Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or B.S./M.S. with 5+ years of industry experience. Strong expertise in utilizing in vitro experimental techniques as they pertain to a biomarker strategy, including flow cytometry, ligand binding assays, primary cell culture and functional in vitro assays, and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Demonstrated ability to rigorously analyze, interpret, and present complex datasets. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficiency with high-dimensional data analysis for gene expression, WGS, cfDNA, or proteomics datasets. Experience with advanced technologies such as mass spectrometry, PEAs, automated IHC, and Incucyte live-cell imaging. Experience working with contract research organizations and third-party labs. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. A bonus plan and equity will also be offered.
