Overview
Job title : Director, Digital Business Innovation Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career. The Impact You’ll Make in this Role: tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world to drive digital transformation, data, AI, and ML to enable business innovation and operational excellence across the 3M Transportation & Electronics Group (TEBG) and related stakeholders. Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive digital transformation strategy for TEBG that aligns with 3M’s business objectives. TEBG Digital Strategy Development:
Design and implement a digital strategy for TEBG leveraging data and AI to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency, in collaboration with 3M IT leadership. Data-Driven Decision Making:
Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of business data to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for improvement across TEBG. Collaborate with other Business Groups to identify opportunities for synergies and shared learnings. AI & ML Innovation:
Drive prioritization and decision-making with TEBG leadership to advance the development and deployment of AI/ML solutions that enhance business processes, customer experiences, and competitive advantage. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with other 3M leaders to ensure alignment and integration of digital initiatives across the organization. Team Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing team of solution architects, data scientists, analysts, and technologists within TEBG; foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning across 3M teams. Project Execution:
Break down processes into sub-projects and design execution plans. Performance Metrics:
Develop estimates of qualitative and quantitative benefits and establish KPIs to measure the impact of digital initiatives. Data Management & Analytics:
Oversee the collection, management, and analysis of TEBG-specific data to provide actionable insights for data-driven decision-making. Cross-Department Collaboration:
Collaborate with 3M IT, Corporate Research Labs, Enterprise Supply Chain, Integrated Business Operations, and Finance to ensure successful implementation of digital initiatives. Technology Leadership:
Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in data and AI and evaluate their potential impact on the business. Your Skills and Expertise
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Administration (completed and verified prior to start) Ten (10) years of experience in digital innovation, data analytics, AI (including agentic AI) and ML, with a proven track record of driving business results in private, public, government or military environments Additional qualifications that could help you succeed: Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Administration Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams Strong business acumen and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels Deep understanding of emerging technologies and industry trends Ability to view business end-to-end, translate digital capabilities to business processes, and assess organizational culture for change Experience in Industrial/Manufacturing or Material Science with customers in Transportation, Electronics, Aerospace, or Energy industries is a plus Work location
