JOB SUMMARY

The

Shipping Coordinator

plays a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders. This position is responsible for picking, packing, and shipping goods while maintaining precise inventory records and organized storage locations. The role supports daily shipping operations, contributes to inventory management, and upholds safety and quality standards. Success in this position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective collaboration with team members across departments.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (36 hours/week)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Outbound Shipment Preparation Accurately pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments based on customer orders or internal requests. Verify that the correct quantity and type of items are included in each shipment. Ensure all packages are properly labeled and documented for shipment. Use appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit. Carrier Coordination & Documentation

Schedule pickups and coordinate with carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, freight companies) to ensure timely delivery. Generate and manage shipping documents, including packing slips, and shipping labels. Inventory Transactions & Accuracy

Complete system transactions to reflect accurate inventory levels after shipments. Return unused, mispicked, or excess inventory to stock in an organized and timely manner. Put away finished goods and shipping supplies in designated storage areas. Assist with cycle counts and periodic inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy and support operational efficiency. Warehouse Organization & Cleanliness

Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, including packing stations and loading docks. Ensure proper labeling and storage of shipping supplies and materials. Keep aisles and workspaces clear to support safe and efficient operations. Quality Assurance

Inspect packed goods to ensure they meet quality standards before shipment. Report any discrepancies, damages, or packing issues to the supervisor for resolution. Ensure compliance with customer-specific packaging and shipping requirements. Safety

Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use proper lifting techniques and operate equipment safely. Keep work areas clean and free of hazards, especially around packing stations and loading docks. Teamwork

Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Assist in training new shipping staff, sharing best practices and procedures. Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers, and coworkers to support smooth operations and resolve issues quickly. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent

Requirements

Skills and Abilities

Basic math and computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Physical ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs. or as required by the role). Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Attendance is an essential function of the position Must be able to read, write and speak English Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent Additional certifications in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management are a plus. Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment preferred. Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping software, and basic computer skills is beneficial. Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, and move for long periods during the shift. Good vision to read pick list and see color differences on product Frequently
