Overview
Manager - Procurement Analytics role at United Airlines. The Global Procurement (GP) organization sources and procures goods and services, manages supplier relationships, and oversees the procure-to-pay process to drive operational efficiency, cost optimization, supplier quality, and regulatory and sustainability compliance. This role supports GP by gathering and structuring supplier spend data (direct and indirect) and providing data-driven insights to optimize procurement strategies and purchasing decisions. Responsibilities
Ingest, transform, clean, integrate, classify, and model supplier spend data from various sources. Apply data engineering techniques using tools such as SQL, Palantir Foundry, Alteryx, and dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to produce meaningful insights. Develop and improve data structures and implement automations to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and reliability. Monitor and analyze performance data to ensure quality, timely delivery, and adherence to KPIs. Identify trends in purchasing data to optimize sourcing strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities. Analyze spending patterns to identify areas for cost reduction through better negotiation, supplier consolidation, or process improvements. Understand AI capabilities in data and drive IT towards integrating AI in procurement analytics. Analyze data workflows within procurement platforms, including interconnectivity and communication channels. Integrate and leverage data from various systems and suggest improvements to data workflows and data efficiency. Identify system and process gaps and present solutions and best practices to fix them. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data efficiency and provide meaningful insights for stakeholders in procurement and across functions. Foster collaboration with IT and business operations partners to ensure data is complete and accurate for its intended purpose. Manage relationships with key stakeholders across Business Divisions and mentor team members. Train and develop team members on spend data analysis and relevant tools. Lead meetings, set agendas, organize memos and notes, and track tasks. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Computer Engineering or Information Technology with Data Science, Data Analytics, or related field preferred 4+ years of data analytics experience in procurement analytics and finance analytics Knowledge of SQL, coding languages, and data transformation tools Experience developing and executing queries and views in AWS Redshift, Palantir, or Alteryx Strong Excel and Excel-Macro skills Experience working with large datasets and storytelling with data Passionate about data analytics and its applications Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Proficiency with visualization tools such as Power BI Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree Quantitative fields such as data science, data engineering, information technology Experience in data modeling, database design, data integration, and database management systems Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Highly structured with attention to detail and result-oriented Excellent organizational and communication skills Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $129,924.00. This position is eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation.
