Position Summary Somerset Court at University Place, through consulting with ALG Senior, is seeking a dynamic
Executive Director (ED)
to lead our community. The ED will oversee all day-to-day operations, ensuring residents receive exceptional care and service. This role requires a leader who can effectively partner with staff, residents, families, vendors, providers, and regulatory agencies. The ED must be an excellent communicator, a problem-solver, and a compassionate leader who thrives in a customer-service driven environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for all departments, working closely with department heads to ensure resident, family, and associate satisfaction.
Support, coach, and empower department heads in recruitment, retention, onboarding, staffing, and performance management. Step in as interim leadership when necessary.
Operate within established budgetary guidelines, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Meet with residents and families regularly to address and resolve concerns, preferences, and feedback.
Ensure compliance with all state, local, and federal regulations.
Actively participate as a sales leader—supporting the marketing team, giving tours, and building relationships with prospective and current residents.
Oversee property standards, ensuring the community environment is maintained to the highest quality and rooms are move-in ready.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in assisted living, skilled nursing, or senior living industry preferred.
Current North Carolina Assisted Living Administrator’s License required.
Strong history of hiring, directing, and managing staff successfully.
Knowledge of DHSR regulations and must be certified and in good standing.
Excellent communication skills with residents, families, staff, regulators, hospitals, and the public.
Compassion for and commitment to serving older adults.
