Overview
One of our direct clients is urgently looking for a Software Build & Release Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA. Title: Software Build & Release Engineer. Duration: 6 to 12+ months. Location: Sunnyvale, CA. Rate: DOE. This is a Web Build & Release Engineer role requiring React JS experience.
Description As a Software Engineer, you will research, design and develop the Web CI to run at top efficiency. You will work with Development and Test engineers to ensure consistent, high-confidence delivery through a CI pipeline. The team emphasizes collaboration, agile practices, and technical excellence, delivering working software in short sprints.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with engineering teams to understand their DevOps process and map the user journey through the CI/CD process using tools in the Walmart ecosystem.
Identify pain points with Global Tech and Strati teams and recommend data-driven solutions.
Enhance existing products by identifying opportunities and adopting emerging technologies.
Implement a continuous integration strategy for Web Applications.
Drive business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs of the product.
Perform build, deploy, and manage the build environment for Web Applications.
Coordinate with tools development team to ensure the web team’s CI/CD operates flawlessly.
Support CI and source control systems.
Work with engineering teams to design sustainable deployment packaging and automation systems.
Troubleshoot build-related issues.
Participate to improve the web team’s CI/CD workflow.
Work closely with QA and DevOps teams to integrate automated and stress testing as part of CI/CD.
Develop utilities to allow engineers to quickly set up standardized development environments.
Train and assist web developers worldwide across the organization to facilitate software development and release.
Continuously simplify, optimize, and automate CI/CD processes to rapidly improve developer productivity and confidence.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with software development and CI/CD processes.
Experience with CI/CD tools and emerging trends.
Experience with platform migrations and comparative analysis.
Experience with tools such as Jenkins, ReactJS, Eclipse, Git, etc.
Experience managing complex dependencies with build tools like Maven, Ivy, or Gradle.
Aptitude for configuring, running, and gathering metrics from CI pipelines, including web automation with Nx Cloud and Jenkins.
Experience with virtualization tools (Docker, Vagrant, Terraform, VMware) and knowledge of network security in data centers.
Strong command-line, Bash scripting, and build tool management skills.
Ability to translate business goals into technical requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ReactJS, Ruby or Python, and Bash scripting.
Experience as a Software Developer in previous roles.
Experience in technology organizations, cloud platforms, and/or with developer communities.
Experience collaborating with UX designers and bridge communication with development teams.
Well-versed in web technologies, trends, and paradigms.
