Test Engineering Manager

The role manages the test engineering staff and supports new product introduction, production and development projects with customers or the Sanmina design team. It also supports production resource training, defines and develops product testing strategies, and provides DFT and quoting support. The role drives continual improvement of test methodology, including test automation strategies, establishes test labor standards, and maintains capacity analysis and cycle-time improvements to meet production schedules and shipping requirements. It also develops relationships with customers’ technical teams and key suppliers to align testing with customer strategies and company goals. The role supervises service/calibration/preventive maintenance activities for test equipment to ensure timely PM and calibration services and cost effectiveness. Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities
Support product implementation in manufacturing. Detailed layout planning that includes facility layout of equipment and workstation floor space and requirements for power and data networks. Manage project schedule pertaining to strategy implementation, working with the customer focus team and the customer counterpart(s). Develop testing work instructions (TWI, SOP), validation protocols, tooling and programs for product testing processes to support appropriate product acceptance programs. Work with other departments and engineering teams to integrate new products into manufacturing systems. Identify and communicate product software and hardware design deficiencies to customers. Train technicians and operators on new production test stations, support debug of complex designs and perform failure analysis as part of continuous improvement. Provide support for software installation and configuration, data collection and modifications. Identify and drive test and process improvements to close top defects affecting test yields. Support new business development by interfacing with new customers, developing proposals and quotations. Oversee and support pilot runs for NPI and provide feedback to customers. Manage test engineers, test engineering activities and test technicians. Support test infrastructure validations, writing and executing validation protocols. Evaluate and upgrade new test equipment as required to meet product complexity and new technologies. Education And Experience
BSEE with 10+ years’ experience as a functional test engineer, in industrial, life science, medical device, networking or related field. Min 3 years’ experience as test engineering manager; familiarity with ICT, FP, AXE. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with the Engineering Change Control process and Deviations Process. Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ methodology. MS Office experience. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 requirements. Experience in a Contract Manufacturing environment is a plus. Ability to work with TEs to debug hard failures that Techs can’t debug. Ability to analyze failures and drive them to fix the root cause. Ability to work with QEs and MEs to provide feedback for all manufacturing failures. Ability to work with Customer Engineers to provide test programs failures and possible design failures. Salary Range (annual): $120,000 - $145,000. Actual base pay within this range will be based on experience, education, certifications, and skills. Total rewards package includes health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and PTO, and may include restricted stock units and discretionary bonuses where applicable.
