Medical Assistant – Primary Care Support (Long Island, NY)

We are seeking Medical Assistants to support primary care clinics in Riverhead, Shirley, and Southampton, NY. This is a 6-month contract role with both full-time and part-time opportunities—ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic clinical settings and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting physicians and nurses with patient intake, vital signs, and clinical procedures. You’ll help maintain a clean and organized exam environment, manage EMR documentation, and ensure a smooth and professional patient experience from check-in to follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

Record patient vital signs and assist with intake

Collect medical history and symptoms; room patients efficiently

Prepare and stock exam rooms; sterilize instruments using autoclave

Assist with clinical procedures and room setup

Deliver excellent communication and customer service

Document accurately in EMR systems (Eclinical Works preferred)

Qualifications

Completion of a Medical Assistant diploma program

Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical assistant role

Proficiency with EMR systems (Eclinical Works preferred)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Availability Monday–Friday, with flexibility for evenings and rotating weekends

Preferred Skills

Phlebotomy and front office experience

Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)

Experience in multispecialty or primary care environments

Work Environment & Schedule

Locations: Riverhead, Shirley, and Southampton, NY

Flexible scheduling: full-time and part-time roles available

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
