Yale New Haven Hospital, the flagship hospital of Yale New Haven Health and the primary teaching hospital for Yale School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Daytime Hospitalist (Internal Medicine) to join our inpatient care team. Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient care, including admissions, daily management, coordination of tests, and discharge.

Lead care coordination with interdisciplinary teams – nursing staff, consultants, case managers, and ancillary services – for optimal outcomes.

Contribute to education and mentorship, teaching residents, students, nurses, and allied health professionals through rounds, reports, and in-service sessions.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evaluate outcomes, and help implement process improvements in inpatient medicine.

Serve as a professional leader and role model, participating in hospital committees, promoting best practices, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications Education

M.D. or D.O., with completion of an ACGME–accredited Internal Medicine Residency.

Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Internal Medicine.

Must secure a Connecticut medical license, Controlled Substance Registration, and DEA certification.

Must obtain attending medical staff privileges at respective YNHHS entity.

Experience

Two (2) years caring for medicine inpatients as resident and/or attending physician.

Licensure

Hold a valid Connecticut medical license,

Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration, and

Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification.
