The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine seeks applicants for a position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to enhance clinical programs in the care of patients with diabetes, related metabolic conditions, and endocrine disorders. The successful candidate will participate as Clinician-Educator in the teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, and endocrinology fellows in inpatient and outpatient settings; will establish outpatient clinics in diabetes, general endocrinology, and other areas according to the applicant’s interest; and will contribute to the overall scholarly and research activities of the Division. Position Responsibilities:

Teaching: Staff Endocrinology fellows’ clinic and endocrinology consultation service. Teach fellows, residents, and medical students using adult teaching methods that enhance and encourage active learning and ongoing professional development. Research: Participate in clinical and administrative research according to skills, interest, and funding. Provide mentoring and supervision of fellows and residents in research and QI initiatives. Service: Work with institutional and administrative staff to attain the objectives of Virginia Commonwealth University and VCU Health System, including patient safety, customer satisfaction, maintenance, and enhancement of public perception and fiscal health. Clinical: Provide excellent patient care in general endocrinology and focused areas of interest and experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Actively participate in management of patients on endocrinology consult service. Other: Comply promptly with billing, documentation, credentialing, and other administrative requirements of the department. Required Qualifications:

Board Eligible/Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Qualify for an appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU VCU Health is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
