Position The Youth Advocate (Per Diem) is responsible for supporting and supervising young people during daily activities in the Weymouth-based Teen Group Home.
What You Will Be Doing
Driving is required
Supervise and maintain the safety of adolescents ages 12–18 in the program
Support youth with developing daily living skills
Provide per diem shift coverage
Deliver services in a culturally competent manner
Implement as required interventions associated with treatment and service plan goals
Participate in de-escalation and physical interventions of youth when required
Implement and adhere to the behavioral support system of the program
Act as a positive role model for youth and coworkers, treating them with respect, dignity, understanding and fairness
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred (not required)
Residential experience preferred
Experience with systems (e.g., DMH, DCF) preferred
Additional languages desirable, though not required
Able to learn, carry out, and be certified in CPI physical interventions and de-escalation techniques
Able to learn, carry out, and be certified in CPR and first aid
