Overview
Responsible for providing clinical expertise to the attending intensivists and nursing care at daily rounding. In addition, provides order verification during rounds and for a portion of each day; participates in clinical education program, MUE, and cost savings initiatives. Clinical interventions and Pharmacokinetic monitoring are conducted daily on a 30-bed unit. Cross coverage of Trauma, Surgical, Transplant, Cardiac, Cardiovascular Surgery, Pulmonary, and Medical ICUs provided amongst a 14-specialist team. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy. PharmD or equivalent education and hospital or ambulatory training/experience required, based on practice area of the position. PGY2 residency or equivalent experience required. PGY2 residency training is preferred. Two to four years of experience in a relevant practice area will be considered equivalent to each year of residency training. Board certification is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff, pharmacy residents, and students. Knowledge and understanding of general hospital and outpatient clinic operations. Ability to integrate clinical services and educational activities. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered pharmacist in Florida or eligible for same. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver. Additional Requirement: As a condition of employment within the Pharmacy Services Department of Shands Hospital all employees must be accessible by telephone and provide a valid telephone number to the department Staff Assistant for emergency contact.
