About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Export Supervisor
to lead our
Air & Sea export operations
in Boston. This position oversees a team of
12 export professionals
and is responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery across all export activities. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with in-depth knowledge of international logistics and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 12 export specialists handling both air and ocean shipments. Oversee daily operations to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of cargo. Manage export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading, ensuring accuracy and adherence to U.S. and international regulations. Ensure compliance with all export control laws and regulations, including AES filings, EAR, and ITAR requirements. Monitor shipment status, proactively address delays, and maintain effective communication with carriers, vendors, and customers. Review and approve freight quotations, rate requests, and billing for accuracy and profitability. Partner with internal departments such as Import, Finance, and Sales to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team performance and operational efficiency. Prepare performance reports and metrics to assess productivity and ensure service level targets are met. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role. Strong knowledge of export operations (air and sea), international shipping documentation, and INCOTERMS. Solid understanding of export compliance regulations (EAR, ITAR, AES, etc.). Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency with logistics software and MS Office Suite (experience with CargoWise preferred). Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
