SUMMARY
Load, unload and move materials to facilitate the receipt of supplies and shipment of product. An incumbent may or may not perform all of the duties listed below, dependent on the specific location for which support is provided.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: Load and unload trailers; move and dock trailers for loading. Set up trailers for customer delivery. Audit areas of the warehouse to ensure proper placement of materials. Check and track inventories to be sure materials are on hand. Participate in the physical count for monthly and yearly inventory. Keep the warehouse clean and free of debris. Inspect trailers (leaks, dirt, etc.). Handle UPS and FedEx shipments. Monitor finished goods and raw materials for damage; report and repair as needed. Match receivables to purchase orders including all UPS. Attend safety committee meetings. Perform warehouse maintenance tasks (sealing floor, redo aisles, row numbers). Preforms other related duties and special projects. POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Requires basic knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, English, and grammar; equivalent to a high school education. Experience: No prior experience required. May entail up to 6 months on-the-job experience in order to gain sufficient skill to perform the requirements of the position. Skills and Abilities, which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position: Language: Perform reading, writing and speaking at a minimal level. Mathematical: Perform the basic functions of arithmetic; add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Reasoning: Ability to deal with problems involving standardized situations. Computer skills at a basic level. Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software and Work Aids, which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position: Computer, printer, UPS and FedEx software, forklift, clamp truck, tractor-trailer. License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Forklift certification required. Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
Standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, carrying, reaching, grasping, talking, and hearing. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships and to identify and distinguish colors. Medium work – exert up to 15 pounds of force continuously and up to 40 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Work Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
Physical conditions include close proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to noise and dust. Occasional exposure to weather (moving trailers).
