The job role will entail wireless performance research focused primarily on understanding how various factors like antenna performance, modem performance, SAR, RF algorithms, user interaction with device, channel conditions, co-ex and interference will affect wireless performance and in turn the end user experience. Responsibilities
Cellular, WiFi and GNSS performance testing and analysis. Antenna performance characterization: TRP, TIS, Efficiency, SAR. System performance characterization: Through-put testing, application specific wireless performance testing, optimizing wireless algorithms and user impact assessment. Collaborating closely with product teams and other stakeholders to drive performance improvements. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent. 3+ years industry experience in wireless RF and system level performance testing. Strong understanding of cellular, WiFi or GNSS technologies. Test automation experience. Python preferred. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering with 3+ years industry experience in wireless systems. Experience working on physical layer wireless algorithms. Strong background in wireless communications. Experience with cellular field performance testing and network drops. Bringing together and analyzing baseband logs to root cause performance issues. Cellular base station side experience is a bonus. Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
