What we’re looking for in this role: A Senior User Researcher to shape ongoing strategic opportunities for our UGC products, with an emphasis on generative and exploratory research methods to drive continuous evolution and impact.
What You Will Do
Identify questions to move strategy and execution forward; inform company strategy, product experiences, and long-term roadmaps. Advocate for and develop the strategic direction of the UGC brands; act as a thought leader and contributor with brand and cross-functional teams. Design, scope, and conduct user research to uncover latent and unmet needs of Scribd and Slideshare users through generative, iterative, and evaluative methods. Assist multiple product managers, designers, and other cross-functional stakeholders with a wide range of research needs, from large and generative to small and tactical. Make research findings relevant and impactful through crafted insights, decks, stories, videos, and testimonials; foster engagement and shared understanding of research output to drive informed decision making. Build and implement innovative user research processes to meet product delivery goals. Leverage company-provisioned AI tools to maximize efficiencies in research while maintaining appropriate human oversight for critical impact.
About You
5+ years of hands-on experience in market/product/design research with demonstrated impact on roadmaps, design outcomes, and team processes. Ability to navigate ambiguous spaces to extract information for a clear path forward. Qualitative UX research expertise and quantitative experience for surveys at scale. BA/BS+ in Psychology, Social Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. Proven ability to use human-centered insights to answer business questions. Strong collaboration skills; ability to lead cross-functional brainstorming and strategic partnerships. Comfort owning a slice of the research roadmap and prioritizing workload amid changing priorities.
Strong presentation skills with creative storytelling; capacity to handle multiple studies concurrently.
Compensation and Benefits
At Scribd, base pay is part of total compensation and varies by role, level, and location. Salary ranges are provided for relevant markets and may differ for other levels. This position is eligible for a competitive equity grant and a comprehensive benefits package. United States: California ranges typically between $122,500 and $191,000; other US markets outside California typically between $101,000 and $181,000. Canada ranges between $128,000 CAD and $169,500 CAD. Salaries are determined considering experience, skill sets, education, and business needs. Working at Scribd, Inc.: Primary residence must be in or near qualifying cities in the United States, Canada, or Mexico as listed, with occasional in-person attendance as required.
