Head of Advisory Trading System Engineering role at LPL Financial. The Software Engineering Manager - Advisory Trading System Technology oversees software engineering across multiple development teams with strong emphasis on financial, trading, and advisory technologies. You will drive outcomes, build partnerships, and provide transparency on execution and operational KPIs. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to ensure development teams deliver well-defined and high-quality results. Responsibilities
Provide transformational leadership to modernize trading platforms to improve stability, scalability, and the Advisor or Investor experience. Lead and understand large data sets and drive solutions around data and trading technologies. Build strong relationships with architecture, data, product, and business partners, and develop strategies to scale, harden, and modernize platforms. Lead engineering teams to buy, build, or integrate solutions using agile methodology with dedicated teams. Foster a growth mindset, drive continuous improvements, and support business growth through trading technology. Formulate workable solutions to complex challenges and evaluate evidence to inform actions. Communicate complex technical concepts to audiences from board members to individual contributors. Measure success by velocity, defect remediation, and demonstrated value to trading platforms. Provide technical leadership through design and implementation of best practices, aligning with modernization, cloud, SDLC, and release management processes. Influence cross-functional teams to adopt best practices and drive value for Advisors. Promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity as a servant leader. Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance Trading Platform applications and ensure service level agreements and contingency activities are covered. Requirements
Minimum of 15 years of technology leadership experience spanning technology development, engineering practices, product development, and delivery leadership, preferably in financial services or FinTech. Minimum of 10 years of leading high-performing, agile teams. Minimum of 10 years of related experience in capital markets with strong understanding of trading, wealth management, and financial industry. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field. Core Competencies
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and drive outcomes without direct authority. Strong analytical skills to evaluate opportunities and measure results against objectives. Experience in large technology ecosystems with integration of high-scale, high-volume, mission-critical systems. Executive presence and ability to engage with senior technology leadership. Pay Range
$186,525-$310,875/year. Actual base salary varies based on factors including skills, experience, education, internal equity, performance, and location.
