Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture - Data and AI
Base pay range: $170,000.00/yr - $210,000.00/yr Location: Hybrid in-office presence required (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) in Charlottesville, VA; Durham, NC; Columbus, OH; or Boston, MA. Our Solutions Architects support the Commercial team by bridging pre-sales strategy and delivery for Data & AI initiatives. The role focuses on data ecosystems, machine learning, and AI technologies to shape, architect, and launch solutions aligned with client goals and operational needs. Key responsibilities and activities occur across pre-sales and delivery engagements, including collaboration with delivery teams and executive stakeholders to scope, estimate, and staff projects for success. Responsibilities
Presale: Lead scoping, technical design, and work planning; articulate data and AI capabilities to prospective clients. Delivery: Lead technical architecture and discovery projects; design scalable data pipelines, ML model architectures, and MLOps frameworks. Subject Matter Expertise: Own a technology vertical within Data & AI, including solution design, platform selection (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Bedrock), implementation support, and thought leadership across areas like data warehousing, real-time analytics, MLOps, or agentic AI systems. Roving Catalyst: Provide architectural guidance and SME support to project teams in data engineering, machine learning, or AI. Qualifications
Multi-platform familiarity with expertise in one or more of the following: Cloud Data Platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, or other major cloud data warehousing/lakehouse solutions. Cloud AI/ML Services: AWS Bedrock/SageMaker, Azure ML, Google Vertex AI. Backend Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP for deploying and managing data and AI solutions. Data & AI Industry Expertise: Data ingestion, ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data lakes, real-time analytics. ML & AI Acumen: Knowledge of ML trends, MLOps, and AI concepts like Agentic AI or LLMs. Technical Proficiency: MLOps CI/CD; Docker; Kubernetes; software estimation, work planning, and project-scoping within time/cost constraints; strong communication skills. Ability to simplify complex concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders; experience with budgets/fees for data and AI initiatives; passion for modern delivery processes and agile methodologies.
