PRODUCTION COORDINATOR, TEST FABRICATION & SUPPORT
The production coordinator is a linchpin role within SpaceX’s Supply Chain team, supporting all test and fabrication teams to ensure the on-time delivery of components, assemblies, and products. This position involves monitoring, tracking, and coordinating parts, workflows, and schedules in a high-stakes aerospace manufacturing environment. The role requires collaboration across planning, procurement, engineering, production, and test teams to maintain data integrity, optimize logistics, and drive efficiency while adhering to SpaceX specifications and safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and adaptable to multiple shifts in a dynamic setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create inventory requests based on production work orders and replacement parts
Monitor, track, and move parts through the company for timely delivery
Handle physical movement of parts across receiving inspection, stock rooms, purchasing, production resources, or work centers
Verify received materials for conformity, damage, part numbers, quantity, and revisions before releasing work orders
Perform de-kitting operations and manage return to stock process
Support inventory personnel with return to stock and purge actions
Maintain production schedules via planning and shortage management
Promote workflow consistency and accuracy to reduce internal logistics lead-time
Support logistics through innovative staging
Collaborate with production customers on priorities and schedules
Interface with engineers and technicians for work order releases
Assist assigned production cells with work order management
Ensure proper handling and protection of parts per SpaceX specifications
Manage material certifications to prevent uncertified material use
Coordinate off-site parts processing for on-time delivery
Support purchase requisition creation for scheduled contract work
Collaborate with planning, procurement, engineering, and production teams to maintain clean MRP/ERP data
Uphold company computer system integrity per procedures
Resolve incorrect system data causing demand, schedule, or failure issues
Reconcile work order bill of material quantities
Update and use metrics to drive results with production personnel
Ensure completion of metrics-driven actions with supervisors and managers
Develop reports on needs, deliverables, and constraints for internal/customer use
Communicate part status and completion dates to leadership
Assist with action item updates for production leadership and project teams
Support corrective actions for production teams
Support projects and productivity activities in assigned production cells
Assist with productivity improvements
Provide action item updates to materials management leadership and project teams as required
Organize and maintain physical and electronic libraries for production-related tooling and calibration databases
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
1+ year(s) of supply chain, inventory, manufacturing, or operations experience
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Associate's degree in a business or technology field
Experience in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environment
Experience operating forklifts or similar machinery
APICS certification, PMP, Six Sigma, or relevant aerospace/manufacturing certifications
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MRP software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and compliance
ADDITIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
Able to work 1st shift hours: Mon-Fri 6:00 AM-3:30 PM
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Ability to work at elevated heights
Ability to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain, etc.
Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts and loaders when needed
Ability to and available for travel (up to 20% of time), including military and government installations
