Tax Senior Manager, Private Client Services (PCS) is a role within BDO's Private Client Services, a boutique practice serving high net-worth individuals and families with complex tax and financial structures. PCS covers estate, income, gift, and trust tax consulting and compliance; charitable giving and philanthropic foundations; executive compensation; and cash-flow, retirement, and life insurance planning. Job Summary

A Tax Senior Manager in PCS utilizes their education, professional experience, communication, time management, leadership, technical, business development, and people skills to provide tax compliance and consulting services to our high net-worth clients. They manage engagements, serve as primary client contact for issues and resolutions, and contribute to client and firm growth. Job Duties

Manage tax and consulting engagements; identify and address client needs, tax planning, and consulting opportunities Provide executive presence and act as the primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolution Review complex returns (individual, trust, estate, S-Corp, foundation, partnership, and gift tax) and provide feedback to preparers Direct communication with government agencies for highly complex matters Identify technical issues, conduct advanced tax research, and develop recommendations for PCS leadership, clients, and advisors Expand understanding of tax concepts through client engagements and current tax developments Prioritize and review work to keep engagements on track Utilize analytical, research, and decision-making skills to assist with client needs regarding individual and business decisions Assist with PCS/firm contributions including billing, recruiting, and participation in CPE/training Build and maintain relationships with BDO professionals and external sources Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise associates and senior associates on projects Review work and provide comments; train associates on current software tools Act as a Career Advisor to associates and seniors; schedule and manage workload Provide verbal and written performance feedback Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred Experience

Seven (7) or more years of experience in accounting, finance, or law; experience in private client services required Prior supervisory experience required Experience in public accounting preferred Licenses and Certifications

CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), Attorney (admitted in U.S. jurisdiction), or equivalent designation required Other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred Software

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Tax compliance software experience (GoSystems, BNA Tax Planner, GoFileRoom, SurePrep) preferred Tax research tools experience (BNA Portfolio, CCH IntelliConnect, Checkpoint, LexisNexis) preferred Languages

Individual salaries offered are determined by qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. California Range: $146,000-$200,000; Colorado: $120,000-$185,000; Illinois: $140,000-$190,000; Maryland: $150,000-$180,000; Massachusetts: $150,000-$206,000; Minnesota: $130,000-$190,000; New Jersey: $155,000-$200,000; NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $190,000-$225,000; Washington: $150,000-$200,000; Washington DC: $162,000-$190,000.
