Stanford Health Care Overview Stanford Health Care (SHC) is seeking a licensed Architect to take primary responsibility for the entire design phase of healthcare construction projects. This individual will serve as SHC’s architectural representative, ensuring that all design efforts consistently reflect and advance Stanford’s brand and deliver environments that enhance both the patient and staff experience across campuses. Key Responsibilities Ownership of the Design Phases: Lead and coordinate all design phases of SHC construction projects, including pre-design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and post-occupancy evaluation. Project Lifecycle Engagement: Provide architectural insight during early project conception, feasibility studies, and master planning. Remain engaged during construction administration to ensure fidelity to design intent. Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of architectural and design professionals, fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Develop and present design materials to governance boards, executive leadership, and other decision-making bodies. Clearly explain design materials to stakeholders of varying backgrounds. Regulatory, Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure all designs comply with codes, healthcare regulations, and SHC design guidelines. Promote sustainable and resilient design practices. Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Stay current on healthcare design and architectural trends and innovations to inform SHC’s projects. Incorporate lessons learned from post-occupancy evaluations to strengthen SHC’s design standards.
