Overview

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. Responsibilities

Lead multi-disciplinary teams of Project Engineers to design, integrate, test, qualify, and field advanced technologies and mission systems onto GA-ASI ISR and UCAV platforms. Support development of mission-critical software initiatives and the proliferation of Government Reference Architecture (GRA) and open standards (OMS, FACE, etc.). Support Autonomy & Artificial Intelligence efforts, including development, testing, and selection of viable AI agents and behaviors to optimize autonomous capabilities across GA platforms. Contribute to Mission Critical Software initiatives focused on reducing manpower through autonomy, machine learning models, rule-based automation, simulation environments, and improvements to Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Payload C2. Drive selection of computing edge-node capabilities, processing frameworks, and compute resource solutions to support mission-critical and AI-enabled software products. Leverage internal and external software skills to enhance IR&RF multi-function aperture capabilities, onboard fusion, track management, sensor resource management, and autonomous/AI-enabled agents to close mission gaps. Support integration of organic products and cloud-based architectures, location intelligence, multi-INT discovery, correlation, fusion, geospatial big data querying, and pattern-of-life analytics for extended range awareness. Lead and manage a high-performing project engineering team, ensuring alignment with business and strategic objectives and effective allocation of technical resources to meet program goals. Establish and maintain team expectations, ensure quality of work products, conduct performance management, and provide training and mentoring for staff and supervisors. Manage group manpower and resources through hiring, mentoring, cross-training, external courses, and targeted career development; scale PE resources with customer growth and key skill gaps. Foster collaboration across GA engineering departments, program management, external P&Ls, and customer stakeholders to reach technical consensus. Lead diverse multi-functional engineering teams to meet program milestones within defined cost and schedule parameters. Represent programs as the engineering lead to external customers, PoR representatives, industry partners, subcontractors, and senior stakeholders. Support engineering estimates and proposals in response to customer and leadership directives. Perform system analyses, conduct trade studies, author technical white papers, and prepare customer data packages. Lead SRR, PDR, and CDR activities. Lead design and hardware/software selections for mission architectures and initiatives such as Open Architectures (AMS GRA, OMS, FACE), Autonomy & AI, onboard fusion, track management, resource management, sensing optimization, and HMI design. Develop artifacts including specifications block diagrams, system interconnect diagrams, interfaces, and ICDs for UCAV mission systems. Configure, integrate, simulate, test, and evaluate tactical data link networks and topologies. We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply. Job Qualifications
