Job Summary
The Investment Compliance Specialist reports to a senior staff member in the Investment Office and will play a pivotal role in supporting the Investment Diligence and Compliance Associate, Investment team, and operations function (legal, tax and compliance coordination) within the office. This position is responsible for facilitating the investment compliance and transaction execution process, including the review and tracking of principal documentation, such as closing documents, amendments, consents, and other related materials. The role involves ensuring adherence to investment processes and compliance manuals, as well as assisting in the initial review of investment documents.
You will support all asset classes and be able to analyze and guide information requests and action items to various teams for completion.

Responsibilities *
Actively participate in ensuring the fluidity of the onboarding and investment process
First-level coordination of legal, tax and compliance functions within the investment office
Coordinate principal investment documents for review and execution and escalate questions to legal and tax compliance and investment professionals, as applicable
Monitor the flow of information and the process relating to investment execution and operational compliance and respond to the needs of internal clients by partnering with university-wide groups and within the investment office
Monitor the status of principal documents to ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed to meet deadlines
Timely and accurate coordination, review and processing of operational compliance (i.e., amendments/consents, anti-money laundering, know-your-client, most favored nation elections, and tax and regulatory compliance (i.e., FACTA/CRS, etc.))
Engage with investment office and investment accounting teams regarding the investment office's investment platforms (e.g., Caissa, Burgiss) and custodian systems
Act as a point of contact for investment office personnel and coordinate and direct to appropriate internal stakeholders (tax, legal, compliance, investment team, etc.) for action
Maintain all principal investment documentation
Participate in external operational due diligence processes
Participate in various projects and initiatives
Monitor and audit database of documentation by ensuring all data elements are entered accurately
Workflow management (i.e., Factset IRN and certain other investment platforms) by analyzing internal processes and recommend and implement procedural or policy changes to improve operations
Engage with investment office and internal stakeholders on projects
Required Qualifications *
Bachelor's degree
An understanding of financial/legal operations with a combination of education and relevant work experience of at least five (5) years
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and some leadership capabilities
Self-starter that works to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Works well independently, but also collaborative and team oriented
Effectively form and articulate opinions, both verbally and in written form
Technical expertise in Microsoft Excel
Experience with project management platforms (Wrike, Asana, etc.)
Desired Qualifications *
Foundational knowledge in investments and more specifically the economic and legal terms of typical private investments
Experience with Tableau

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Onsite work is required during the first six months of employment in the role. Upon satisfactory performance during the first six months, a hybrid work arrangement may be an option. Hybrid work requires the team member to be onsite at least 50% of the month.
