Location Bel Air, Maryland. Bel Air is located in Harford County, about 25 miles north of Baltimore. Known as “The Heart of Harford County,” it offers a blend of small-town charm with access to city amenities.

Summary of Position The Physician in Allergy & Immunology is responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and management services to patients with allergic and immunologic disorders. This role leads clinical decision-making, oversees patient care plans, and collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. The Physician maintains compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and organizational goals to optimize patient outcomes and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex allergic and immunologic conditions.

Develop individualized treatment plans including pharmacologic therapies, immunotherapy, and other interventions.

Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as skin testing, pulmonary function tests, and laboratory evaluations.

Provide patient education and counseling regarding disease management, prevention, and treatment adherence.

Collaborate closely with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, nursing staff, and administrative teams to coordinate care.

Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and continuing medical education activities.

Maintain licensure, certifications, and compliance with all applicable laws and professional standards.

Provide leadership in clinical protocol development and implementation.

Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to other healthcare providers as needed.

Engage in community outreach and patient engagement activities as appropriate.

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

Board certification or eligibility in Allergy & Immunology.

Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.

Fellowship training in Allergy & Immunology required.

DEA registration or completion of DEA Waiver.

ACLS and BLS certification required.

Prior experience in outpatient allergy and immunology care preferred.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Strong clinical judgment and expertise in managing complex allergic and immunologic disorders.

Effective leadership and communication skills.

Experience with clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

Proficiency with EMR systems and electronic documentation.

Commitment to patient-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform clinical exams, procedures, and patient interactions throughout the clinic day.

Prolonged standing, walking, and use of clinical equipment.

Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as necessary.
