Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the KBR team supporting the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team working on BD and KM systems supporting DoD Test Ranges and various acquisition programs. Data Driven Analysis:

Support customers with insights from analyzing DoD Test & Evaluation data. Enable development of data-driven decision analysis products through novel methods from data science, machine learning, and operations research to provide robust testing and evaluation capabilities for DoD modernization. Candidate should be passionate about discovering insights in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes through high-quality products. Data Mining:

Experience with data mining and data analysis methods, accessing data in various storage paradigms, developing models with standard statistical and ML approaches, creating custom algorithms, implementing analysis workflows in Python or R, and writing reports and documentation. Analytic Experience:

Provide analytic consulting services, support analytic workflow and product development/testing, promote adoption of data science methods, conduct applied methods projects, and assist in creating analysis-ready data. Identify opportunities for process or workflow optimization. Customer-Facing Experience:

Be the face of the CHEETAS Team and ensure stakeholders have analytical tools, data products and reports needed to make data-driven recommendations. Stakeholder Assistance:

Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify analytic requirements and questions that can be informed through aggregating and analyzing large data sets from test events or exercises. Communication:

Drive decisions through clear communication of data-based insights, at both programmatic and technical levels. Technical Support:

Have extensive technical expertise in operations research methods and DoD problems, with reach-back support from software engineering, data science and system administration teams. Onsite, run and operate CHEETAS (and other tools); demonstrate tools to stakeholders and VIPs; convey analysis results; adapt internal tools, notebooks and reports to meet needs; gather use cases and requirements for larger development items; and provide training or troubleshooting as needed (including work within closed networks without internet access). Independent Work:

Be self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Use a variety of methods to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.

Onsite Travel Requirements:

Travel up to 25%, with potential surge to 50% to support end users located at DoD ranges and labs across the US (including Alaska and Hawaii). When not onsite, may work remotely or from a nearby KBR office (if available). Working Hours:

Standard, with the understanding you may be the only team member physically on-site; you will not be alone.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: Security Clearance:

Active TS/SCI clearance Education:

Advanced degree in operations research, engineering, applied math, statistics, computer science or information technology with 12+ years of DoD experience DOD Specific Experience:

5-10 years of DoD experience considered on a case-by-case basis Experience:

Prior experience with end users, gathering requirements, refining/operating data analysis tools or products to meet user needs; experience developing/interpreting analytic products with DoD data Qualifications Required: Experience using scripting (Python and R) for data processing, analysis and visualization Experience using notebooks (Jupyter, RMarkdown) to create reproducible products Experience using interactive visualization tools (RShiny, pyShiny, Dash) Experience generating and presenting reports, visualizations and findings to customers Experience with analysis methods for time series and geospatial data Experience with Windows, Linux, and containers Experience querying databases using SQL Ability to make insightful recommendations based on data-driven analysis Effective written and oral communication with customers and teammates Ability to present findings to large groups Ability to document and repeat procedures Ability to train novice end users on tools Self-motivated to design/develop/enhance/reengineer/integrate software to improve data outputs Qualifications: 12+ years of DoD experience Experience as a military ORSA Experience in government/defense labs with computing restrictions Knowledge of military force structure and/or tactical messaging Experience with DoD experimentation events (e.g., JADC2) Experience with major DoD acquisition programs (e.g., JSF) Knowledge of TENA, JMETC, and distributed testing and training Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies Compensation Basic Compensation:

$170,100-$255,200 Location Note:

This range is for the Hawaii area only Additional Compensation:
