Hematologist Oncologist
role at Lifepoint Health (Sovah Health) in Southern Virginia. A hospital-employed, full-time BC/BE Hematologist/Oncologist is being added to strengthen the established team at Sovah Health, which operates two hospitals in Martinsville and Danville. Those who are currently practicing or are currently in training can be considered.
Responsibilities
Join an employed group composed of Hem/Oncs, APP, and Rad/Onc on-site
Bi-weekly tumor board and clinical trial programs
Use Aria Oncology information system
Outpatient clinic volume: approximately 25-30 patients per day
10 infusion chairs, 2 quick chairs
Inpatient treatment referred to large academic centers in the area
Staffed with navigators, pharmacist, pharm tech, lab tech with lab draws in office, phlebotomist, office manager, clinical director (shared with radiation oncology)
24/7 Hospitalist coverage
Most local cancer referrals come from GS, GI, Uro, Pulm, ENT and Neph; Oncology scope includes breast, prostate, lung, colon, head/neck; large Hematology panel
Good working relationship with tertiary centers in the region
ACOS-CoC accredited
Low turnover in the clinic with a true family atmosphere
