Deputy Ethics Counsel (Attorney 2) The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a well-rounded attorney to join the Office of Attorney Ethics (OAE) as a Deputy Ethics Counsel. The OAE acts as the investigative and prosecutorial arm of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, supervising and disciplining New Jersey attorneys. The successful candidate will investigate matters from inception to conclusion, prosecuting cases before the Supreme Court of New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling a caseload of investigations, litigating disciplinary hearings, and preparing well-drafted pleadings and legal briefs. They will also direct assigned investigators in the conduct of disciplinary investigations. Responsibilities:

Manage a diverse caseload of disciplinary matters within established time goals. Direct auditors and investigators in the investigation of complex cases. Prosecute disciplinary matters virtually and in person before special ethics masters and hearing panels. Prepare investigation reports, complaints, file motions, write briefs, and conduct legal research in assigned disciplinary cases. Appear before the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the Disciplinary Review Board. Render advice on disciplinary cases to the District Ethics Committee. Develop and present CLE programs to the Bar and members of the District Ethics Committees. Requirements:

Graduation from an American Bar Association-approved law school. Three years of experience as an Attorney-at-Law performing legal research and analyzing and evaluating legal documents. Attorney-at-Law with a plenary license in the State of New Jersey and having Supreme Court Good Standing Status of Active.
