Exempt Position Summary The Director of Patient Services plays a critical leadership role in advancing La Clínica del Pueblo’s mission to provide high-quality, culturally responsive care to the diverse communities we serve. This position is responsible for ensuring that patients experience timely access, coordinated services, and compassionate care across all multi-site, multi-state clinical operations. As a key member of the Leadership Team, the Director oversees patient-facing operations, including scheduling, intake, benefits enrollment, medical records, referral navigation, case management, and service flow, while driving improvements in quality, safety, and efficiency. The Director fosters a supportive environment for staff, strengthens systems that promote patient-centered care, and ensures compliance with FQHC standards and regulatory requirements. More than an operational leader, the Director serves as a bridge between patients, staff, and leadership, advocating for equitable access to care, guiding service innovations, and ensuring that every patient encounter reflects La Clínica’s commitment to dignity, inclusion, and community health for all who seek care with us. Key Responsibilities
Patient Services & Operations: Direct daily operations of patient services, including scheduling, access, intake, benefits enrollment, medical records, referral navigation, case management, and front desk functions. Patient Services & Operations: Ensure compliance with FQHC, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), and HRSA standards, including patient access, utilization, and continuity of care. Patient Services & Operations: Monitor patient experience data and lead improvements in access, clinic flow, and satisfaction. Patient Services & Operations: Manage patient complaints and implement timely, patient-centered resolution processes. Patient Services & Operations: Oversee departmental budgets and contribute to financial planning, including grant-related requirements. Environment of Care: Ensure safety, infection control, equipment maintenance, and overall facility readiness. Environment of Care: Partner with Operations on procurement, space planning, and efficiency of clinical environments. Systems & Risk Management: Oversee use and optimization of the electronic health record (EHR) and telecommunications systems. Systems & Risk Management: Support emergency preparedness and compliance with regulatory safety drills and protocols. Systems & Risk Management: Act as liaison with auditors, funders, and external agencies to ensure regulatory and grant compliance. Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise, coach, and develop patient services managers and frontline staff to achieve high performance and engagement. Leadership & Collaboration: Lead quality improvement initiatives in partnership with the Quality Department. Leadership & Collaboration: Monitor provider productivity and ensure compliance with benchmarks and operational standards. Leadership & Collaboration: Represent La Clínica with external partners, vendors, and funders. Leadership & Collaboration: Contribute to organizational strategy and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in healthcare or nonprofit operations, including supervisory responsibility. Experience with budgets, vendor relations, and compliance in a healthcare setting. Experience working with diverse populations. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Experience in FQHC or ambulatory care settings. Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or comparable EHR systems. Knowledge of UDS reporting, 340B pharmacy program, Title V, Title X, HRSA, and Ryan White programs. Experience working with Latino and underserved populations. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required. Core Competencies
