As a Medical Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering patient care. You will assist with clinical tasks, ensuring that patient needs are met while facilitating clinic operations. Key Responsibilities: Effectively manage patient flow within the clinic. Prepare medical records and gather information prior to patient visits. Engage in team huddles and meetings to coordinate care. Schedule diagnostic tests according to clinic protocols. Assist with patient intake and medical history documentation. Maintain accurate and timely records in the electronic health system. Check vital signs and perform necessary point of care tests. Communicate wait times and expectations clearly to patients. Deliver concise observations to providers on patient matters. Ensure cleanliness and readiness of patient rooms for visits. Assist medical providers during clinical procedures. Undertake laboratory responsibilities, including phlebotomy. Complete follow-up paperwork and quality control checks on medical equipment. Participate in staff meetings, process improvement initiatives, and continuing education. Support colleagues and contribute positively to the team environment. Organizational Responsibilities: Create a respectful environment for patients and staff. Adhere to confidentiality policies and dress code requirements. Review and complete annual educational requirements. Report to work on time with minimal unscheduled absences. Actively participate in meetings and committees. Minimum Qualifications: Education:
High School Diploma; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred. Certifications:
Medical Assisting Certificate and BLS preferred. Experience:
One year of experience as a medical assistant or equivalent experience. Currently enrolled nursing students who have completed clinical rotations may also qualify.
