Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Project Engineer to support the design, development, and execution of renewable energy projects. This role will assist in the review of electrical design drawings and calculations, development of new project opportunities, and provide oversight of the construction and implementation of multiple projects in alignment with Clean Energy Ventures’ strategic project plans.
Major Responsibilities
Lead the review and provide comments for electrical design and vendor equipment drawings including array layouts, site electrical distribution plan, one-lines, and grounding drawings. Lead the review and provide comments for the electrical calculations including short circuit, cable and conduit sizing, grounding, voltage drop, incident energy, and relay coordination. Conduct field inspections, which require the interpretation and implementation of contract specifications and drawings and report deficiencies. Assist in developing electrical equipment and installation specifications. Attend factory witness testing for electrical equipment. Lead the commissioning and testing program for new commercial solar projects. Oversee the development of the array layouts and provide layout drawings using AutoCAD. Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred) At least four years' experience with an engineering design or construction management firms, with a focus on renewable energy projects and electrical power system design. Experience with solar array design and commercial solar projects preferred. Experience with the National Electrical Code and electrical standards. Knowledge of electrical equipment, such as medium voltage switchgear, generators, inverters and transformers preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD and PVSyst preferred. MS Office proficiency and effective communication skills Physically able to scale NJRCEV assets, including rooftops. Travel required - 25% - 35% New Jersey Resources is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
