Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. The hospital provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.
Job Summary:
The Director is responsible for the direction and leadership, operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel activities for PSU and Laboratory. This includes establishing, meeting, and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Responsibilities: Provides an environment of patient and family-centered care, including incorporation of the organization's mission and values. Creates and maintains a satisfying workplace that fosters professional growth and job satisfaction for all members of the healthcare team. Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies that support a culture of leadership. Determines the qualifications and competencies of personnel who provide patient care services. Directs quality assurance and process improvement activities, ensuring compliance with patient care practice standards. Continually assesses and improves the performance of the services provided. Collaborates with hospital personnel and physicians to ensure optimal patient care. Promotes a positive working environment in the department and hospital. Ensures services maintain compliance with the standards of practice for the departments, as well as regulatory and/or accreditation agencies. Identifies cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department, taking into account business trends, resource availability, and changes in customers. Collaborates with Senior Management in meeting facility goals. Takes patient assignments as needed to meet census demands and fluctuations. Requirements: Graduate of a professional school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Master's in Nursing or other related field preferred. Five + years of acute medical surgical or critical care nursing required. Three + years of acute care progressive leadership experience required. Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS through the American Heart Association required. Board Certification in leadership, critical care, emergency nursing preferred.
