This role reports to the Head of Product & Engineering CivilGrid is a venture-backed SaaS construction tech company building the "Google Maps for the Underground." Come help us disrupt a $4.7T US industry segment that desperately needs innovation. This opportunity has tremendous upside as it scales. CivilGrid aggregates public and proprietary utility, geotechnical, environmental, and jurisdictional data. The consolidated information is sold via our collaborative SaaS mapping platform to engineers and developers who need it to make early-stage decisions on real estate and infrastructure projects. Real time data access reduces labor and project delays, accelerates decision making and reduces project risk. Collaborative features ensure faster information flow and decisioning inside and outside the organization and better project insight retention over time. Responsibilities
Build new user-facing mobile features using React Native for iOS and Android Occasionally, write native code (Swift, Kotlin) Improve performance by profiling and tweaking all layers of the stack Set up analytics, health monitoring, alerts, and logging solutions Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other team members Mentor junior software engineers and help them develop their skills Is this you?
4–7 years of experience working with React Native or similar Comfortable driving 0→1 development—taking projects from conception through to production launches Thrives in greenfield environments and enjoys architecting, designing, and execution of new systems and solutions Strong verbal and written communication, able to articulate ideas clearly and collaborate effectively Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining high-scale production systems—ready to share your "war stories" Bonus: A degree in Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field (B.S. or M.S.)—nice to have, but not required Bonus: Mapbox, ESRI, or other mapping related experience Bonus: Prior startup or founder experience Perks
