Non-Exempt Responsibilities
Prepares and positions patients for CT of various parts of the body and sets up equipment and patient in relation to each other to provide the best demonstration of the body part under study. Enters instructions into terminal for scan procedures. Monitors scan performance to ensure accuracy and completeness of data output. Makes necessary adjustments when judged to be necessary. Evaluates results of scanning procedures for quality and completeness, manipulates control to display images to the physician, and selects image display options using the terminal. Provides research support to radiologists and performs quality assurance tests on equipment. Responds to patient's physical and psychological needs. Explains procedures clearly to reduce anxiety. Practices proper hand hygiene before and after patient contact. Observes patient condition and reports any changes to nurse or physician. Maintains accurate records relative to procedures performed and related statistics as required by governing bodies. Ensures exams are networked to appropriate locations (PACS, AW or Vitrea workstations) and that exams are successfully sent to the networked location. Maintains daily room checks, code cart compliance, monthly inventory checks for expired products, and reports incidents affecting patient care using the online incident reporting system. Edits computer entries for accuracy in description, charges, use of contrast, reactions, and time stamps for scan procedures. Qualifications
Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology required. License in MA Rad Tech - Computed Tomography required, or Registration in Radiography Nuclear Medicine Computed Tomography, and Certification in American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) required. 1-3 years related work experience required. New hires must provide BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access). Competencies

Physical nature of the job: Very Heavy work requiring exertion, including occasional lifting up to 100 pounds and continual lifting up to 50 pounds.
